Europe 2018 - July 16 - Bonn to Koln

Monday - July 16
Laundry is pretty much a continual thing on a bike trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - quiet, cool with a great breakfast, bike touring heaven.
All that blue was just too pretty to pass up. This is at the hotel entrance.
On our way out of Bonn.

Now for the not-so-scenic part through an heavy industrial area. It still had a really nice bike path though.
It was only 20 miles from Bonn to Koln so we got to our hotel by noon. Much of the mail is delivered by bike in these German cities.
A short bike day gave us lots of time to explore the Chocolate Museum, one of Donna's favorite places in Germany. They had a different exhibit than when we were here in 2015. This one was about the 4000 year history of cacao in Meso-America.

The chocolate fountain
The World Cup showed up here too!
Pope Francis
The variety and complexity of their chocolate creations is so impressive.
Window art on our way to the Dom Catherdral.

It is SOOOOO tall!

The plaza outside is always interesting too.
This artist gets into his work. He really is covered in chalk.
It was such a warm evening that we had ice cream for dinner to end our art-filled day.

End of Week 4  - Kelsterbach, Germany to
Koln (Cologne), Germany
144 miles - 232 kilometers
Total trip so far: 686 miles - 1106 kilometers

We added 2 more "C's"
Castles and Chocolate!
