Europe 2018 - July 1 - Besancon to Clerval

Sunday - July 1
A bit different packing situation than yesterday morning!
It is already 72F and it is only 8:00.
This city is such an interesting mix of ultra-modern and historic architecture.
On our way out of town.
Our route continues along the Doubs River.
No wind today!
Doug took a picture in this spot in 2011 and was very happy to get a chance to try it again.
Saint Martin's in Deluz.
This handy bike bridge took us across the river to Baume-les-Dames where we got the last 2 sandwiches at the only place that looked like it was open for lunch on a Sunday. They also closed at 1:00 so we were very happy that we had stopped for lunch when we did.
We saw several of these small homes along the river....maybe summer places?
The historic community laundromat in Roche les Clerval.
The cemetery on the outskirts of Clerval.

It was laundry day and the heat did a good job of drying our clothes.
We were enjoying the grassy shade until Doug got a tick under his arm, thus we are sitting on our thermarests and imaging ticks everywhere.
The local Kebab shop served us dinner and the World Cup. It was Russia vs. Spain and it went to a shoot-out after 2 overtimes. We were rooting for Spain but Russia won.
The ice cream truck was VERY popular when it arrived in the campground.
Tonight we went to sleep to the music of funny sounding frogs. We think they are probably really tiny with really big voices.
