Europe 2018 - July 11 - Sending Megan Home

Wednesday - July 11
The first 2 hotel shuttles were too full but the 9:05 shuttle driver reluctantly let us board with the bike - Step 1 complete.
This airport bus driver let her take the bus from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2. The rest of us went into Terminal 1 to buy the bike box. Step 2 complete.
We did find Megan in the repacking area as planned - Step 3 complete.
Step 4 complete in time to get her to be 2nd in line at the check in counter.
She made it through Step 5 (checking in and paying the bike baggage charge) in time for us to share one more lunch before we sent her through security at 12:30. We were sooo happy that Plan A worked so smoothly since we had so many doubts on Monday. Still it was sad to see her go.....such is the life of a working person.
Back at Terminal 1 we got to be Angels of the Road for this couple since we had the tools with us to take the handles off of the box so it would fit in the car. We spent the rest of the day getting ready to get back on the road. Watched the last 30K of Stage 5 of the Tour de France and ended the day watching the semi-final World Cup match between Croatia and England. Croatia won 3-2 in overtime...whew! Who knew we would become such soccer fans on this trip. It has been exciting, entertaining and educational watching these amazing athletes.
