Gives "Share the Road" a whole new meaning.
Yep, the rain gear has been called back into action though not for very long.
There were several park information sites all along this part and bike routes going everywhere.
They like each other :)
It is a church though the entry didn't look as old as the rest of it.
These are just a few of the hundred bikes we must have passed so far.
That's a lot of thatch!
Another kind of "Share the Road
Almost every cemetery has a small chapel.
The wall around the cemetery
And this is the road that came next. Keeping a straight line and taking in the scenery is a full-time job.
A good snack spot.
Lunch time found us in Ankershagen. The restaurant was in a park building.
I, Donna, think my hot chocolate should always come in this mug.
This group walked in just before we were done. We thought they looked like a bike club and they were! This is their annual tour.
There was also a small museum in the building as well as TV that showed the current happenings on a local stork's nest.
Muritz Lake is the largest in Germany. This map shows all the bike routes through the park.
The ruins of a "hotel" from the Middle Ages along the Salt Road, salt being a particularly valuable trade good at the time.
We've certainly seen several variations on this theme today.
We had stopped for ice cream when this young family pulled in with fully loaded bikes.
Doug and the little girl played peek-a-boo around her dad's bike for at least 5 minutes.
Must be garbage day. They must not have animals that roam their streets.
Dinner. He was quite proficient with that knife.
It was actually more like an apartment than a hotel room. Such a deal!!
