August 13 - From the Saint to the Red Baron

Thursday - Wroclaw to Swidnica.
The dungeon where the bikes spent the night.
Found the Eurovelo 9 route pretty quickly....
...but it still took us awhile to get out of town.

Left it out of the picture but there is a McDonald's right next door.

You really have to watch which light is yours because they don't all turn at the same time. The middle one is for the light rail train.
It "only" took us an hour to go 4.5 miles to get out of town.

This is a great way to go across a freeway.
Lunch time in Wawrzenczyce. We don't even try to pronounce these. We just call them the W town or village.
Looks a lot like Iowa.

Our home for the night.
Some of the neighbors
This guy has a snake wrapped around his arm.
We headed to the central square for dinner.....

....but did a little exploring first.

One part of the square was lined with flower booths filled with bouquets like this one.

This looks like the place to be to eat.
It wasn't quite so hot this evening and we had a nice table on the sidewalk. This restaurant had a no smoking section outside which hasn't often been the case. The meal was excellent and we savored our last evening in Poland by just people watching for awhile. And one last bit of trivia, by way of Wikipedia we also found out that this city was the home of the Red Baron, WWI flying ace.
