August 3 - Berlin to Grunheide - 7th Floor to Ground Floor

Monday -  One last breakfast at our handy little cafe just in front of the apartment building. Doug didn't even need to tell them what kind of coffee he wanted this morning.
Not nearly so many tourist this early on a weekday but some were available to take our picture after we took a picture for them.
There really is construction going on everywhere.
Scaffolding must be a big business.

The S Bahn
You really can garden anywhere!
This is the East Side Wall Gallery. Most of these paintings were first done in 1990 after the Wall fell. Most of the original artists were tracked down to repaint their pictures in 2009. Some chose to paint new pictures.

We are following Bike Route D3 to get us out of Berlin.
We didn't recognize the ferry landing the first time we passed it but it was "in port" when we backtracked to look for it the second time.
Our Lunch spot. We are almost out of the city.
Sort of confused by the signs again along Lake Muggelsee. These young people stopped to help and led us the right direction.
They discreetly stayed just far enough ahead to keep an eye on us and made sure we turned the right way (towards Erkner) at the next junction before they headed home.
Turns out we are also following Europa Radweg 1 and we had been looking for Eurovelo Route 2 signs instead.
Starting to heat up and the beaches are getting busy.
Our ground floor "apartment"  that cost 9.50 Euros for the night. Quite the contrast to Berlin!
