Sunday - Jaromer to Chotovice They had done a beautiful job of remodeling around the old structure but those beams were a little scary in the dark. |
Donna's bike glasses broke in half when she tried to put them on this morning. Guess we will have to add a sporting goods store to our agenda for Prague. |
We were the first ones at breakfast again.....maybe the only ones. Tomas I served us and he sure looked a lot like his brother |
The Labe River separates Jaromer and Josefov. |
Josefov was built as a fortified city between 1780 and 1790. It is much like Neuf Brisach in France that we visited 4 years ago. Like most of these, the decisives battle took place elsewhere. |
The walls did tend to capture an era however. |
St. Nicholas Catherdral was built in the 14th century |
This wall has underground rooms that housed soldiers in the day. |
Not only has pizza conquered the world but Hawaii has too. This one is for you, Cameron, Meagan, Tia and Alana. |
This is adjacent to the shrine above. |
It has been cloudy all day, warm and humid. After coming out of the mountains into grayness we are having a hard time getting our brain compasses oriented. We have been off by 90 degrees all day. |
We've ridden over so much of these pavers that it was interesting to see how they install them. |
Those look like greenhouses but they are actually nets covering a whole orchard. |
Hotel Na Farme was just what it said, a hotel in the middle of a working farm. This is the view from the end of the hall. |
The view from our room. It started raining just as we pulled in, Thunderstorms rolled in and out the rest of the evening. |
They definitely cater to families. |
The coffee was perfect.... |
