August 19 - Showers or Rain, it is just as wet.

Wednesday - Prague to Rakovnik
The view from our hotel room. It was surprisingly quiet inside given the amount of train traffic.
We pretty much took over the elevator for the ride down.
We did just a little more sightseeing on the way out of Old Town. The rain was kind and held off until we were done taking pictures.

They are preparing to commemorate the 1968 uprising against Soviet rule.

There is going to be music and so, once more, our view of a tourist spot is blocked by the stage. We are looking up Wenceslas Square.

Very old, very new and inbetween, it is all here.
Crossing the Vltava River one last time, which of course means it is all up from here.
They said showers but it sure feels like rain and plenty of it. We put our rainjackets on at 9:00 and didn't take them off the rest of the day.
8 miles later we are out of Prague zone but it is already 10:30 too
We have found Czech drivers to be very courteous.
Poor little hedgehog :(
Time for lunch and to get a little warmer and drier in Unhost. (12:20, 17.6 miles, 59F)
We are still going uphill too but it finally stopped raining. Doug decided to have a close encounter with the ditch somewhere before we got to Novo Straseci on this long grade. The ditch was full of soft grass so he sort of went puff.
Cleaning and lubing the bikes in ruins behind the hotel. Doug asked if they had an empty soda bottle he could put water and soap in and they came out with this bucket full of soapy water. Such luxury!
We had taken the last room they had available and it must have been their largest and most expensive. It was worth it to be warm and dry.
Logistics is eating up a lot of our computer time right now as found there to be limited options between here and the border. We did get one blog post done but are still behind by over a week. Sneaking up on it though.

Doug, my experience, and I'm sure yours, has shown that "puff" is exponentially better than "scrape" and accompanying !*׶∆¥€!!!.
Glad it was a "puff".....
