August 6 - Celsius or Farenheit ..... it is still HOT!

Thursday - Sulecin to Trzciel
It was already over 70F when we left at 0800.
John Pail II is going to show up in a lot of places, we think.

Some road surfaces are harder on the bottom than others.
Lubniewice - The colorful flowers caught Donna's eye.

Osieko in the distance.

This is just part of a large estate that was entirely fenced. While taking the picture, a guy on a fast bike dressed like a racer blew Donna a kiss as he whizzed by. Doug was around the corner and missed the whole thing.
We saw these ribbons on a couple crucifixes before we figured out that they symbolize the Divine Mercy painting by Saint Faustina.
These pillars are used to post announcements and advertisements, etc.
This sign didn't need much translation.
In Miedzyrzecz
There has been a church on this site for 1000 years.
City Hall
Another way to post signs. This one looks pretty good today but what happens when the tree grows? We leave Europa Radweg 1 soon after this as it heads north and we want to go south.

Trzciel - American willow was brought to this area in 1885 and eventually provided 75% of the wickerwork in Poland. The oldest nursery in the country is in this town.

The central square in town.
The doggy was very good company while Donna worked on logistics for tomorrow.
Damien and Maria from Poznan. He had worked at Lake Tahoe one summer so we had a good conversation until it was his turn to ride the horse. It took Doug a long time to get Maria to smile.

Hi there Doug and Donna, David here in Montreal. Just caught up on your trip journal, been busy. It's been fun catching up on your adventure, I am very envious--I am also glad that Doug is still not stuck in that bathroom....;-)
I don't know if people appreciate how much time and effort goes into doing a good trip blog, stopping to take photos of little moments, getting them in order and putting them up. It's been fun reading this and I know it's a whole other job to do. Neat floor level shot in that church BTW.
I only know two words in Polish so I will say "gindobray" (phonetically) and wish you, as always, safe travels. Must have been neat visiting Berlin, I've never been.
Cheers, David
Ps Le Grand Tour week ride into Vermont was really pretty and we were pretty darn lucky for rain all in all.
