August 4 - It has definitely decided to be summer again

Tuesday - Grunheide to Letschin
This is a pretty easy way to sweep the floor.
The mobile drying rack for the one sock that hid in the washer last night.

We had a gourmet breakfast at the NETTO market in Grunheide before really hitting the road.

In Lichentow

A little taste of Australia?
The signs really do help.
This gas station was pretty darn classy.
We passed many places that had horse barns behind them. Some are still being used that way and some have been converted to other uses or left to fall apart.
The Garzou Church provided a bench and shade for our lunch stop. We found out about the Way of St. James on the interpretive sign. It is a route that connects a bunch of historic churches. Our sound of the day was rooster crowing while we ate.

Europa Radweg 1 will continue into Poland which is good because D3 stops at the border tomorrow.
It was nice of them to put a smooth lane just for bikes.
Tiny farm stand outside a home in Liebendorf.
Keeping cool in Waldsieversdorf as it is over 90F today.

The shady roads help with the hotness.
This was only the 2nd of at least 7 that passed us. The fireman that was directing traffic up the road told us there was a field fire. We wondered if it was cause by the harvester we had seen just  a bit earlier.

What is a little dirt if it is shady?

This was one night we didn't have advance reservations. We reached Letschin and decided to stop as it was HOT, 4:00 and we already had 40+ miles for the day. Came around the corner and this Pension appeared. And they had a room for us!
Arlen and Jeanette from The Netherlands were spending the night in the Pension Zum Alten Fritz as well. After dinner we talked until after dark on this warm summer evening. They are on their way to Berlin having started in St. Petersburg. We did our best to talk them into coming to Oregon.
