Friday - Trzciel to Wolsztyn We did laundry last night and there was a clothes line that got most things dry. This is the most use we've made of a TV in a long time.
This is the back yard of the "hotel". Wish we had taken a picture last night. This place was a beehive of activity. The Rancho Colorado's specialty though is horse riding.
It is supposed to 100F later today so we wanted an early start. We were the only ones there when breakfast was started.
The only downside was the 1/2 mile of dirt road to get there.
Another use of American willow
Back in Trzciel proper.
It is not all back country roads here. Not sure how come there aren't any vehicles in the picture as it seemed busy at the time.
These guys didn't pay much attention to us.
This is the biggest clearcut that we've seen. There is a LOT of wood growing in this part of Europe that is reaching harvest age.
Market in Zbaszyn......no sandwiches either so we had to make do with pastries and a banana for now.
They seem to have a use for every bit and piece of wood.
There are almost as many shrines to Mary as there are crucifixes.
Poland's is largely an agricultural economy so they actually avoided most of the effects of the Great Recession.
Downtown Wolsztyn from our lunch table. We are really glad we made this a short day. It is HOT already so seeing some wet little girls running around the place was nice.
For a total of $6 we each got 2 grilled kielbasa, salad, a roll and a drink. The name of the place was a mouthful too....Szaszlykarnia.
This Russian WWII cemetery was just down the road from the cafe.
...........and watching the dancing....
....and a bride that was really having a great time at her wedding reception. They did stop by 11 too :)
