July 24 - Following Route 9 - the Water and Barley Route

Friday - Tappernoje to Nykobing - This place was all about presentation. The breakfast was a wonder to behold!
Just couldn't resist one more picture in the beautiful early morning light.
The bikes, however, did not get to participate in the loveliness. This was their home for the night.

Time to go. We are already at the end of our first week in Denmark and it seems like we just got here.
It may not look like it but this is a two way road

These caught our forester eyes because they were short spruce  trees with LOTS of cones.
Not barley
The route has been really well signed.

Our first and only traffic light for the day.
View from the bridge between Kalvehave and Koster over Ulvsund.

Our lunch spot

Crossing over to Bogo Island
Not sure what he was harvesting but it looked like work.

Damsholte Kirke. It looks like just landscaping but it is the cemetery surrounding the church.

The ferry to Stubbekobing.
We arrived at the ferry landing just 5 minutes before its arrival. This kind gentleman helped us figure out the automatic ticket machine. He is just finishing a 4 day bike tour and his home is on the other side. We gave him a "Ride Oregon" sticker and an Angel card for his help.
This "crew" was fun to watch.....didn't need to know the language.
This church is no longer being used. There wasn't even a name on it.
A typical mail box in Denmark, at least everywhere we've been so far.
We walked from our hotel to dinner in the city square only to find that it was Friday Night Music in the Square time. The hotel had a fire a year ago and their restaurant was still under construction. Serendipity strikes again!
Toddlers are so universal.
It was a relaxing end to a wonderful day.
