| Friday - September 22 - Menomonie to Chippewa Falls Happy first day of Autumn The weather forecast is for record-breaking heat...a high of 88F with a real feel of 100F. We decided that we would make a shorter day of it and try to be done by noon as it was already 70F at 7 am. |

| The bike path took us past several lush backyard vegetable and flower gardens. |

| Not much wind this morning but it will mostly be a crosswind. |

| This grass was striking waving in the breeze...the first time we've seen it. We aren't sure if it is a native or invasive but we saw patches of it all day. |

| Chippewa Falls, we like you already and we just arrived (it is 84F at noon and we are a lot hotter than we look). Fortunately, the motel let us check in early and we were able to cool off before doing some wandering around downtown. |

| Chippewa Falls is home to Leinie's beer (aka Leinenkugels) and is served everywhere in town. It has been brewed here since 1867. |

| The sun went down at 7 but it is still 85F and the weatherman is calling for more of the same tomorrow. |

| We have really enjoyed our visit to this town and were very glad that the heat caused us to stop here. |
