2017 MinnWisMi - Menomonie to Chippewa Falls

Friday - September 22 -  Menomonie to Chippewa Falls
Happy first day of Autumn
The weather forecast is for record-breaking heat...a high of 88F with a real feel of 100F. We decided that we would make a shorter day of it and try to be done by noon as it was already 70F at 7 am.
The bike path took us past several lush backyard vegetable and flower gardens.

Not much wind this morning but it will mostly be a crosswind.

This grass was striking waving in the breeze...the first time we've seen it. We aren't sure if it is a native or invasive but we saw patches of it all day.

Chippewa Falls, we like you already and we just arrived (it is 84F at noon and we are a lot hotter than we look). Fortunately, the motel let us check in early and we were able to cool off before doing some wandering around downtown.
The Visitor Center.....
.....where we found the guide to cheese-makers!
One of several floral bikes scattered around town. The pink flip flops are a nice touch!

Nicely done historical panels were also scattered around the area in the location appropriate to the subject.

The Northwoods Violin Shop, full of beautiful craftsmenship.....
.......and an antique bango/ukelele, "only" $1000.
Chippewa Falls is home to Leinie's beer (aka Leinenkugels) and is served everywhere in town. It has been brewed here since 1867.
The sun went down at 7 but it is still 85F and the weatherman is calling for more of the same tomorrow.
We have really enjoyed our visit to this town and were very glad that the heat caused us to stop here.
