| Saturday - September 9 - Cass Lake to Winnie Dam Chilly but sunny and windy. Our route zigzaged so sometimes it was a tailwind and sometimes it was a headwind. |

| We planned to stop in Bena at the cafe for lunch. Imagine our surprise when we saw this crowd. |

| Turned out that they were just getting ready to leave on the 13th Annual Steve Stangel Birthday Ride. They will be back at 5:00 for a BBQ. |

| Dinner found us next door at the Northwood Lodge which was built in 1919. |

| Pat and Lorraine were very gracious hosts and we loved talking to them about the resort life, hurricanes in Florida and sharing some of our trips too. |

| This was the first time that bugs chased us into the tent....tiny No-seeums. Actually we have been pretty pleased with how bug-free the trip has been so far. |
