2017 MinnWisMi - Hawley to Detroit Lakes

Sunday - September 3
Hawley to Detroit Lakes

We were the only ones at breakfast that were not going to the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion in Rollag......who knew there was such a thing! We headed to Lake Park and there wasn't much traffic after the exit.
We attended mass at St. Francis Xavier in Lake Park because it started at 10:00 in Hawley and here too so we were able to get 12 miles in the meantime.

It was a little hard for us to be inconspicuous so we got a lot of questions about our journey. One older gentleman's response was "Oof da!!"
Boyer Lake, one of the first of many in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

The sign says we've gotten to Detroit Lakes but town in nowhere in sight.

We were following a handy bike path that helped us avoid some road construction when came upon this bike repair station. Seemed like a great time to pump up the tires.
Downtown Detroit Lakes
Lori Robin, this one is for you :)
We dropped our gear at the motel then headed to the lake.
Warm, sunny afternoon on Labor Day weekend. It was a nice place to just hang out and do a little people watching.
Doug drooled over these leather bags.
After dinner we played a round on miniature golf at our motel. We think every motel should have a course!
