The Soo Line Trail (north route) runs 148 miles between Cass Lake and Moose Lake. This is about the midpoint. The south route adds another 105 miles! |
We just had to take this picture for the grandkids. A south wind (read headwind) kicked up just before we got here. |
Our lunch spot. It is right across from the turn we anticipated in the last photo. The road is gravel for 7 miles and while we were eating we watched a couple of BIG gravel trucks turn that way. |
We decided to stick with the asphalt on Hwy. 169 even though the shoulder didn't improve. The drivers are really great and have been giving us plenty of room. |
Mississippi River crossing #14. |
No choice here....we had to take the lane. It was about 1/4 mile long but only 1 car was behind us when we exited. |
This is one day that we were glad to be a little early to town and did we ever enjoy our DQ Blizzards. |
