Selkirk Loop 2019 - Day 3

Wednesday - July 3 - Priest Lake to Newport, Washington
The tents were wet but it was cool and dry while we ate breakfast and packed up.
However, we did not make it out of the campground before it started raining. And we are mostly going downhill today so we are going to have wet faces.

It finally stopped raining about 5 minutes before we reached The Falls Inn for lunch. Hot drink mugs felt pretty fine in our hands.
The whole bar had silver dollars and medallions embedded in it.
These were the oldest ones.
The river runs right under the restaurant.
The sun came out while we ate lunch and it didn't rain the rest of the day.
Summer's other name is Construction season.
We are back in Priest River.
A nice place to take a break....bathrooms, a place to sit, and views of the beautiful Pend Oreille River.

Walden House Inn has lots of experience with bike tourers. Our host was wonderful.
And definitely in the 4th of July spirit.
The bikes were a little jealous of our comfy accommodations.
The large backyard gave us lots of room to dry out the  tents.
