Canada 2019 - Day 25 - Exploring Owen Sound

August 10 - Saturday
Exploring Owen Sound
It was a beautiful morning to be cruising along the Sound on bare bikes.
Maple Grove Farm
Our turnaround point was the Cobble Beach Golf Resort. Maybe this is where all that traffic was headed yesterday?
Look for the rainbow in the fountain.
At Sarawak Family Park looking north towards Georgian Bay.....
.....and looking south towards Owen Sound.
Back in town, we followed the waterfront trail which is also being affected by higher than average water levels.
The trail led us to the Community Waterfront Heritage Center which is in a repurposed train depot.
Their current exhibit is on the changing technology of travel and how the suitcase came to be.

There was plenty of boat and train stuff.
And some bike stuff too.

Then we had lunch and wandered around downtown.
Doug was still looking for a replacement hat but didn't find one here either.

A highlight was the Intersections Wood Art Gallery
This maple bowl is from one piece of wood, very impressive in its simpicity!
The other end of the spectrum.
It was a steep hill up and down from our motel and this was a semi-rest day so we decided to take a taxi to church since the buses don't run on the weekend.
The talented local wood artistry was on display here too.
