What we did between bike trips

The word this winter was SNOW............. Patrolling with Willamette Backcountry.
That's a 10 foot snow pole and it is only Feb. 2.
Playing at Willamette Pass during our false February spring.
Early March - Mt. Bachelor for Doug's 65th Birthday celebration.

Late March - There is a campground toilet builiding somewhere under that pile of snow.

On the bridge over Gold Creek
April in Sweet Home.......this is a first since we've lived here!

In May with Megan at Silver Falls State Park.
Early June we took a road trip to Kalispell to watch Cody and Abby play baseball. We also got to go on a school field trip to the local fish hatchery.

Late June snow camping at the north end of Dutchman Flat near
Mt. Bachelor. The other set of skis took the picture!
The next day............that is Broken Top in the background.

Fourth of July found us at our favorite place in the world, on our almost annual ski from the top of Llao Rock in Crater Lake National Park. We usually call it "Connect the dots" but this year it was a big dance floor with a few major sun cups towards the bottom of the slope.

That's Llao Rock behind Wizard Island.
August 2 at nephew Robert's wedding reception at Sonoma State University. This is a pretty rare occasion lately getting all of the siblings and spouse/almost spouses in the same place at the same time. Made for a happy Donna and Doug.

All that late spring/summer snow made for more than one difficult decision....do we ski or do we bike???? We did get in some miles in preparation for this coming bike trip. We are off to Vancouver, BC by train/bus to start our next LiveStrong Adventure along the Pacific Coast Bike Route.

Thank you, Megan

We owe a big thank you to daughter Megan for keeping up our blog during our cross-country bike trip. She did a great job and made our life so much easier. Over the winter she showed us how to use Blogger and handed us the reins. So now we are on our own! We hope that you enjoyed pictures and the story. Since completing the trip we have given several slide shows to a wide range of audiences including grandson Cody's 5th grade class, the Junior High Bike Club, the Senior Center and all ages in between. It's been fun!
