Vancouver to Mission - Are we there yet?

June 29 - Saturday
Cory, Jerry and Ava, our wonderful Vancouver hosts.
Ava  is 7 and serenaded us  several times with her lovely voice in English and in French.
Going up and out to really start our tour.
Vancouver gets a day of sunshine at last! Not going to need our raingear after all. It was 69 F yesterday and is going to get to 82 F today!!!

It helped that we had scouted out this route yesterday.
But it still seemed like it took us forever to get out of town. Our sound of the day was the chirp of the walk signal at all the traffic lights. We only had 11 miles in by lunch time.
We've made it to the suburbs as we head to the Loughheed Highway (7), our route up the Fraser River.
The lumber business is still a big part of the economy here.
We did find a couple of nice bike trails along the way.
We especially appreciated the bike route over the Pitt River Bridge.
Looking north at the Pitt River. We made it to Mission a little before 5 with very tired legs from all the starting and stopping and 46 miles of pedaling. It was a great first day.
