On the road again - Kamloops to Sorrento

July 7 - Sunday - In the Tour de France this would be considered a flat or sprinters stage. We did NOT sprint.
The bike path led us past this scenic truck that smelled like french fries.
This bridge over the railroad tracks is a recent addition to Kamloops' bike and pedestrian facilities. It was an excellent way to get out of town and we saw numerous runners and bikers taking advantage of it and the path that got us past the Hwy 1/Hwy 5 freeway interchange.
Donna chatted with these women for at least 2 miles. We saw 2 different club rides along this road, a fast one and a slow one.
Typical load on the many log trucks we've seen the past week.
Remember, that's kilometers but Banff is still at least a week away.
Yes, we have a tailwind again today.....hurray!
108 cars long........it takes awhile for them to go by.
We are now following the South Thompson River.

We asked the woman seated next to us while we ate lunch how to pronounce this word but we still can't do it justice.
This gas station made a fine lunch stop with a chance to visit with several of the locals.

Now doesn't this look like fun. They are putting in a new turn lane. Fortunately they are doing the work at night.
The signs says "You should get out more." How much more can we get out??? Sort of wish they had new pavement on the shoulder too.
We were 2/3rds of the way down a long downhill stretch when Doug ran over something and got a pinch flat, first flat tire of the trip.
The sign said there was also a hostel.
Shuswap Lake
After 50 miles the Shuswap Lake Motel and Resort looked like a good place to camp. He gave us the shadiest spot in the place.
Checking out tomorrow's route while we waited for our Mac and Cheese.
Laundry doesn't go on vacation especially when you only have 1 or 2 changes of clothes.
