July 7 - Sunday - In the Tour de France this would be considered a flat or sprinters stage. We did NOT sprint. |
The bike path led us past this scenic truck that smelled like french fries. |
Donna chatted with these women for at least 2 miles. We saw 2 different club rides along this road, a fast one and a slow one. |
Typical load on the many log trucks we've seen the past week. |
Remember, that's kilometers but Banff is still at least a week away. |
Yes, we have a tailwind again today.....hurray! |
108 cars long........it takes awhile for them to go by. |
We are now following the South Thompson River. |
We asked the woman seated next to us while we ate lunch how to pronounce this word but we still can't do it justice. |
This gas station made a fine lunch stop with a chance to visit with several of the locals. |
Now doesn't this look like fun. They are putting in a new turn lane. Fortunately they are doing the work at night. |
The signs says "You should get out more." How much more can we get out??? Sort of wish they had new pavement on the shoulder too. |
We were 2/3rds of the way down a long downhill stretch when Doug ran over something and got a pinch flat, first flat tire of the trip. |
The sign said there was also a hostel. |
Shuswap Lake |
After 50 miles the Shuswap Lake Motel and Resort looked like a good place to camp. He gave us the shadiest spot in the place. |
Checking out tomorrow's route while we waited for our Mac and Cheese. |
Laundry doesn't go on vacation especially when you only have 1 or 2 changes of clothes. |
