A rest day is Golden

Friday - July 12 - we headed towards the laudromat but our timing was a litttle off. They were putting this train together. We saw the same cars 3 times before the train cleared the crossing.
Ah ...summer. It was a group activity but this little girl kept her hula hoop going a lot longer than the group supervisors did.
This timber-framed pedestrian bridge ties together the commercial section on both sides of the river. There is a park and trail too.

Bought a new inner tube and the store keeper let us use his floor pump to air up all our tires.
When we returned to get our clothes out of the drier, Leo showed up. He and Marcus had also decided a rest and dry out day was needed. His down sleeping bag needed some fluffing. They stayed at the Municipal Campground which he said was quite nice.
Lunch spot. This little sign says, "Countless people have eaten in this kitchen and gone on to live normal lives." The food was excellent.
Bike maintenance, blogging, and dinner completed our much appreciated rest day. This is the end of week 2 and we have 578 miles so far and 23,249 feet of cumulative elevation gain (only 6,000 feet less than Mt. Everest!).
