2017 MinnWisMi - Shawano to Green Bay

Saturday - September 30 - Shawano to Green Bay
It was only 39F when we got up this morning but the sun is shining. We waited for it to warm up a little - 44F - before heading out.
This seemed like the perfect barn quilt to start our day. We didn't see many more after this one since we are headed out of Shawano County.
Irene had seen us in Shawano and wondered where we were headed. So when she saw us at the gas station in Bonduel she was ready. She rode across the country in 1976 and has been riding ever since. In fact she admitted that she had bike shorts on under her pants.....a kindred spirit! We aren't headed in her direction but she invited us over just in case we were....so sweet. It was great chatting with her!!
Barn boo boo
Our lunch stop in Seymour
We try to not focus on food but this was the most awesome hot sub sandwich. The sandwiches were so big we could only eat half so they bundled them up for us and we had them for dinner later.
This old brick schoolhouse has been converted into a home.
We are approaching Green Bay but are reluctant to see this day's riding end. The day has been one of those perfect autumn days.......cool morning, warm afternoon with only a very mild breeze all day. Beautiful countryside, gentle hills, gentle people, and we found a paved rail trail for a little while.

The Oneida Nation reservation is adjacent to Green Bay.
Yep....it has been a really good day!!
Now we really know that we have arrived in Green Bay.
