Thursday - Sand Am Main to Sommerach We woke to clear blue skies and 60F....looks like another beautiful day on the Main. |
This guy is all about baskets in the central square of Sand Am Main. |
Zeil Am Main |
Lots of corn here too. |
Ritterskapelle in Hassfurt |
Leaving Hassfurt |
Stopped for the picture of the river marker to let those 2 guys get farther ahead of us and then about 2 miles later they stopped for a break too. Oh well! |
Schweinfurt lunch spot. Should have gone just a little bit farther and we would have had a shady bench. |
Another 1945 bike being used as advertising along the bike path. |
Just north of Garstadt (even though we are moving in Germany, the Main Route does a lot of zigzagging so we are often headed southwest or northwest.) |
The ferry crossing at Wipfeld. |
There were four times as many bikes as cars in the 3 crossings that we observed. |
This guy was on his next to last day and was telling Doug about his journey and then had a joke at the end. |
This is a military museum in Stammheim. We didn't go in as there were only 2 airplanes and this was the only one that was interesting. |
Nordheim for an ice cream break. |
We traveled past lots of fruit trees and vineyards the rest of the afternoon. |
Camping Katzenkopf |
It looks like we are in the country looking this way..... |
.......but not when you look this way! |
