Day 25 - Hey Mom, We're Here!

Day 25 - October 13 - Columbus Day Holiday.
East of Visalia to west of Visalia.
The Lone Oak Pioneer Cemetery is adjacent to Ted and Leslie's house. The plaque says it is likely the oldest one in the southern San Joaquin Valley.
We had a leisurely breakfast before we hit the road for our last day traveling south by bike.
It is always a little bittersweet to face the last day of a tour.
We had never taken this road by car but it seemed like it would be a good route by bike. It was very scenic but the asphalt was BUMPY.
Some of you may have noticed that there is no rack pack. Donna's mom came to dinner last night and offered to take our camping stuff.....before we even thought of it ourselves.
You can almost see the mountains this morning.
Now we are officially in Visalia and we are 320 feet higher than we were a week ago!
The hometown built a rail/trail since the last time we were here!
Baseball is really big around here.
Grapes in various stages of becoming raisins in front of a farm stand.
Remember the picture of the bullheads a few days ago? They have struck again and we are ONLY 2.8 miles from Mom's house! AND the new spare inner tube we bought yesterday is in one of the bags she took home with her.
This is the first cotton field we've seen this trip and it is ready for harvest too.
Mom's pistachio-lined driveway.
We're here! Now she's really going to spoil us.
p.s. Doug's front tire went flat again while it was parked on the deck. We are sure glad we don't have bullheads in Sweet Home!
