Day 10 - From One Luxury to a Different Kind of Luxury

Day 10 - Sunday - McCloud to McArthur-Burney Falls State Park.
We had an excellent breakfast at the Inn with some more lively conversation about biking and hiking with a couple from Redding. We weren't sure what was available today so we bought a whole day's worth of food on our way out of town. No route-finding though as we just keep on Highway 89 all day.
The aptly named Mud Creek
When we got to the viewpoint, Mt. Shasta still had it's head in the clouds.
We rode through this tunnel of trees most of the morning. There was not a lot of traffic and most of it was motorcycles heading west.
Bartles Cafe was open! So many of these little places have gone out of business. It was time for lunch but we would have eaten even if it wasn't noon. We found out that the motorcycles are all coming from Reno.
Yep....back above 4000 feet..........again.
And down we go!

Getting aerodynamic to coax 35 mph out of a fully loaded touring bike. After all that work going up I want to enjoy the down!
Is that really blue sky ahead?

Lake Britton. The climb up from here was tricky....no shoulder, steep and our legs were tired.
Almost there.

Yes it really is coming right out of the rocks!
Our luxurious abode. After carrying it for 9 days, it was nice that we could use it.
