Canada 2019 - Day 29 - Goderich to Grand Bend

August 14 - Wednesday
Goderich to Grand Bend
Nabbing a little more wifi signal before we head out. No breakfast at the motel so we ate here, a rarity for us.
Every color under the rainbow but they aren't cheap!
Tow Mater is popular in Canada too.
Another barn quilt day.

Part of the splash pad in Bayfield Clan Gregor Square where we stopped for a break.
DL Creations showed up on the edge of town.
They could tell we loved wood so gave us a tour of their whole shop.

Nathan was our "tour guide" and is one of the craftsmen.

St. Peter Catholic Church, just north of Saint Joseph, has a very attractive meditation garden/path adjacent to the church.
Each stop on the path had a similar sign.
Our first good view of Lake Huron today. We've been missing that blue.
This was the original schoolhouse in Grand Bend. The current one is across the street.
It was our lunch stop and this was next to their very handy bike rack. Our waitress does triathlons and was very interested in our trip so she stopped by our table quite a bit.
Donna thought this was a most interesting wash basin.
After lunch, we headed to the beach past this dinosaur mini-golf course (tiny compared to the one in Niagara Falls) and more ice cream shops per block than we've seen anywhere. Too bad we had just had lunch!
It is a certified Blue Flag Beach.....first we've heard of that.
It has an interesting bike rack though.
And a stage with a concert tonight. Too bad our motel is a little too far away.

We finally had to head to the motel. We picked it since it had a restaurant. Turns out the restaurant was closed for a private party and it not serve breakfast. Should have picked one closer to the beach!
