Europe 2018 - June 28 - Dijon to St. Jean de Losne

Thursday - June 28
Doug and Donna spent the morning shopping for a tent while Lori and Megan explored Dijon. We took the train out to the Decathlon Sporting Goods store, the European equivalent of REI that we became very familiar with on previous trips to Europe. We found a tent that will fit the bill for 25E. Is this a trend?
Now we just need to send the pole-less tent home.
We asked them to let us check out late at the hotel and we ate lunch there before hitting the road.
This canal bike path took us out of town and sheltered us from the afternoon winds.

It turned to gravel about 7 miles later but we stayed on it until it just go too narrow and bumpy as it was very windy. The heavy crosswind made riding on the  adjacent road a little intense and we didn't do much talking or stopping.
By the time we got to the campground at 4:00, the wind gusts were up to 29 mph. That made for some fun times putting up the tents. The new one is on the left.

We had dinner at the campground restaurant which was next to the Saone River. It was such a nice spot that we just hung out there until 9:00. (This pattern with our daughters continued which is another reason this blog got so far behind!)
We went to sleep to the sound of wind music.
