July 21 - The morning view from our campsite. The river music was so pleasant for sleeping last night and after 56 miles we were tired!
This is the Blackwater Creek Firefighter Memorial. It also had a very nice picnic area next to the river.
The canyon of the North Fork of the Shoshone River is a dramatic place. It also has lost most of its trees to drought and bugs.
Still going downhill!
Wapiti Wayside, site of the first Forest Service Ranger Station in the country.
This is R.O. Marsall, the interpretive voluteer at the Wapiti Wayside. He gave us a lot of history of the park and forest in the short time we were there.
In the town of Wapiti. Not sure what it is.
Buffalo Bill Reservoir where the 2 forks of the Shoshone come together. Saw pelicans and lots of fishing boats.
The river below the dam. We actually had to ride through 1 long tunnel and 2 short ones to get passed this section of the river. It was a little dark but we had our taillights flashing and didn't have any problems.
It was 100 already when we pulled into Cody just before noon. This is Donna putting the finishing tape touches on the cooler insert Doug designed for his front pannier so we can keep our food and drinks a little cooler in all this heat.

July 22 - We decided to take a real rest day and stayed over in Cody. This is a historic hotel built by Buffalo Bill Cody. It had quite the exhibit of wild sheep from around the world in one hallway.
Rodeo and guns are both really big here.
We spent the afternoon in the Buffalo Bill Historical Center.
A convenient and shady place to change shoes.
This is in the entrance to the museum. The exhibits are very well done and it was a cool place to be besides. It was a good and relaxing rest day.

Hi guys, We hadn't checked your site for awhile so we had some catching up to do. What was neat about your last two stages is that we had actually seen some of the places you photographed in Yellowstone and Cody, Wyoming. We are still in awe of the fact that you are biking over the Rocky Mountains we drove over. You are incredible! We also wanted to tell you of some sad news we heard this morning. Rita Newport is in her last days. Father was contacted by the family because her death is imminent. What a wonderful, holy woman! Until next time, Lynn and Nancy
